Takakura Ken was a well known actor. During the time I lived in Japan, I saw most of his films. As a Yakuza he was superb, the way he slips his dress from one of his shoulders revealing the multicolored tattoes and throwing the dice in the gambling dens was truly artistic. He played traditional Yakuza roles which also included some real human values despite his being a 'gangsta'.
After I left Japan I had fewer chances of seeing his films (I believe he made over 250 movies). I miss him.
