Waterlicht in Amsterdam

The Dutch knows everything about water and how to control it. Of
course Japanese have done some and Chinese are doing.

We all know about Netherland reclaiming (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeeland) land from the sea.
Dutch artist Dan Roosegaarde has flooded the Museum Plein in Amsterdam with light to show how Amsterdam would look if the water level flooded the city without the man made controls.
Here is a video.

Do you visit this dentist?

May be you should reconsider. He is heartless and probably crossed the legal border. If I were you I would cross him off the list.

Just because he had money he went down to South Africa, paid X amount of money so that he could kill a lion (illegally) from a distance with his high powered gun after making it suffer from a failed arrow . What's more he did not find it disgusting or nauseating to cut off its head and ship it home.

Should we not consider banning shipment of animal body parts from / to USA.

What kind of a person is he?

The US dentist has been identified in the last day or two.

According to the same source(link above) he has a prior record of hunting down a black bear.

Here is video of the poor victim Cecil, the Zimbabwe's lion

Killer identified.

Locking a TSA approved suitcase on Delsy Helium Shadow 2

You recently bought a suitcase but did not pay attention to know how to lock and unlock. Now you are getting ready to travel. Oh! how do you lock it. You pull out the instruction (if you are lucky and still keeping it) and try to work out. You will find this post useful.

I recently bought a Delsey Helium Shadow 2 suitcase which came with a E-181 lock which can
be set by a user but can be opened by Transportation Security Administration staff without
damaging the  lock or the suitcase.

I add another picture to Delsey's own documentation as it does not tell you any details about part B
on its instruction sheet in the next picture. I had to call them at 1-877-333-0126 to find out the details.

The Parts B shown in the above  are the two zipper ends (shown below) that you should align just below the lock as shown in the next image. Lift the tags and push in slots in the lock.

Kid software: PicsArt releases PicsArt for Kids

I have PicsArt Studio on my laptop and it is pretty good. PicsArt recently released PicsArt for Kids app for Android and I am sure this is as good.

Imagination is the driving force for creativity and a tool for creativity will surely fire up imagination. PicsArt for Kids promises two things, education and creativity.

The app is aimed at age group 3 to 8 but I am sure even adults may try their hand while working with kids. It has everything that kids like and do like coloring pages; working with shapes etc. More importantly the kids get a firm footing in creating mobile art.

May be you should give it a try.

Get started bonding with Windows 10

Windows 10 is a bondable operating system. You can interact with the OS: create and share stuff in incredible ways; where learning is mutual and your web experience with Microsoft edge browser one of its kind.

Hope you did not miss this historic event..

This historic event took place at the edge of the solar system after an incredible journey through space for almost ten years crossing the orbits of the other planets. Share this with your children.

What is truly astonishing is that this ten year old craft worked with Swiss precision to send astonishing pictures that takes almost a week to reach the earth due to the enormous distances involved. It must be the most gratifying moment for the team that pulled it off. Salute to them.

Here is a video from, you know where.

The best Windows Phone : Nokia Icon

InfoWorld writes about the only 5 smartphones that matter and includes the following:
  • Apple iPhone 6 and 6+
  • Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (it's a Phablet)
  • LG G4 (Android)
  • Microsoft Lumia 830
However there is hardly a mention of Nokia Icon. This Verizon specific phone (Nokia Icon) is probably not sold anymore as Verizon has a new Windows Phone.

The bottom line: Nokia Icon is better than Lumia 830

I will stay with Nokia Icon. The only worry is what happens if the battery goes bad.
AT & T appears to be carrier for Nokia 830.

Although most Tablets, PCs, Laptops  will be updated to Windows 10 OS, not Windows Phone. It may come much, much later.

Nokia Lumia 735 is out, do you want it?

Verizon recently gave its Windows Phone users the option to swap their Nokia Lumia Icon to Nokia Lumia 735. It does not look like an upgrade to me at all. I went out to Microsoft Store in Ala Moana take a look at it. I was fairly disappointed and one of the store staff told me Nokia Icon is a much better smart phone than the 735.

The other piece of information (I do not know it is true or not) he gave me was it was a Verizon specific phone. If this is tru I would avoid it as Verizon does not provide proper support, like asnweering customer's questions. It took almost a year after talking to Verizon to ge the Windows Phone OS to upgrade to 8.1. Probably the upgrade of 735 from Windows Phone 8.1 to Windows 10 is less stressful.

I am not sure what features are important for you but there are 41 reasons why Nokia Icon is better than Nokia Lumia 735 but only 13 reasons why Nokia 735 is better than Nokia Icon.

Looks like the capability to replace battery and be able to use an external memory appears good reasons, but with cloud service available to store this capability is not compelling.
On the whole, I would rather stay with the Nokia Icon as it takes great pictures and videos with a view area much larger than the 735.

Get your kids to this important event....

The event takes place Saturday October 24, 2015 in San Francisco for kids 10 to 18. (https://www.oracle.com/javaone/javaone4kids.html)
Children have an incredible capacity to understand even very complex ideas and technology although different from the way adults absorb information. In a documented event in an indian village, the children were able to work with a laptop, a thing they had no idea at all. You may yourself know of such instances.

JavaOne4kids is an event that can inspire and motivate your little ones. The main thing is that you should not portray it as a learning event although in essence it is. The event is built around doing fun things, it may really make them involve deeply. Who knows he or she may turn out to be a great Java programmer!

It is your reponsibility to inspire and motivate your young ones. Yes, it is fun playing video games but it is a hundred times more creating things. .

This event is sponsored by Oracle and DEVOXxKids

This is an interesting map that someone made..

You might have already come across this, but if you have not here is the link and here is the map.

All countries display the world map with their own country in the middle, also all countries claim they are the best (bestest as my little friend used to say). You be the judge.

Improve this map!
