A woman heads a prestigious European Organization - Girls feel proud!

The is the first time a woman has been chosen to head the prestigious European Organization, CERN. Fabiola Gianotti an Italian experimental physicist heads this organization which was responsible for discovering the Higgs Boson, sometime called the 'God Particle'. Come January 2016 she will be taking up her new job.

You may already be knowing that it was at CERN, the World Wide Web was born with the first of the 'html' pages used as a vehicle for communicating with fellow scientists.

It was in one of the experiments she was involved with that announced the Higgs Boson and was responsible for two of the physicsts to get awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2013.
