Mahindra's ROXOR mini jeep

Mahindra is a new comer to this segment of auto by introducing its Mahindra Roxor and it surely looks  cute. Mahindra is not really a new comer to autos. Mahindra built Willy Jeeps under license after WWII.

This next is directly from Mahindra site here.

"Seven decades in the making, our history began in India assembling rugged off-road vehicles under license from Willys. Vehicle production has continued since the 1940s while also building one of the world’s largest tractor brands. Other internationally known vehicles such as MM 540, THAR, Bolero, and Scorpio have established Mahindra as a maker of tough, durable, no nonsense vehicles.fr. And now ROXOR bursts onto the off-road scene in North America"

Mahindra is going into Electric Vehicles as well via REVA, already running in Indian roads. This small profile is ideally suited to Indian conditions.

@travel: You do not need to buy TESLA in India, MahindraReva's e02 will do

MahindraReva has entered second generation with e02 all electric cars that use lithium-ion batteries. The first generation car had lead acid battery. Here is a picture of the lead acid battery car of my neighbour who is quite satisfied with its performance. He seems to get 80Km with a single charge. I asked him what if the car stops in the middle due to battery (which lost its charge) and he smiled and said he calculates where he is going and he has no problem. He has been using it for a couple of years.

e02 is second generation with two models one basic(T0) and one premium(T2) both 4 seater cars and and the base starts at 4.82 lakhs and premium at 6.82 lakhs.e20 site is here:

Here is a picture from Mahindra's site.I have seen a couple of them running the city (Bengaluru). You can get 120Km out of a single charge. It is sold in many Indian cities, Bhutan and Bermuda (Island car).

e02 comes in 6 different colors: Spanish Red, Arctic Silver; Eco Green; sunfire yellow; coral blue and Oceanic white.

I think this is perfect for Honolulu, Hawaiian Islands and the smaller US cities.

There are both free and paid charging stations are available in many cities and Bengaluru has some 98 stations. The owners will have their own charging setups. While it takes 5 hours for full charging at your home set up(15a/220V), it can be charged in about an hour using it's Quick2Charge technology. The battery lasts for 50000 Kms and can be leased.
