There is a greater awareness of people around the world to the welfare of animals. They have strongly come out against creuelty and mistreatment of animals. The Dutch institution has been extremely active and garnering acceptance in the political system.
The two party system in USA (also un UK) makes it hard for third party to make any significant presence. Nevertheless the existing party should make stronger effort not only in the states in which it is somewhat active but also in others.
